LONDON - Changes of the guard at TBWA Group and Channel 4, as well as a marketer's return to Vodafone, make the headlines in Brand Republic's round-up of this week's people moves in advertising, digital, marketing and media.

Advertising

TBWA Group UK has parted company with Tim Lindsay, its UK president, and has replaced him with Robert Harwood-Matthews. Harwood-Matthews has held various national and international management positions within TBWA, and was most recently the managing director of PHD in Los Angeles and San Francisco. He will report directly to Perry Valkenburg, president Europe and COO International. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Media Square, owner of agencies Holmes & Marchant and The Gate, has promoted to chief executive and said that current chairman and CEO Roger Parry will become non-executive chairman starting in 2010. ()

Pete Harle, the former executive creative director of Targetbase Claydon Heeley, is joining Chemistry Communications in an equivalent role. At Chemistry, Harle replaces Mike Cavers, who left in August to join The Marketing Store. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Simon Brotherson, the award-winning art director whose campaigns include Smirnoff, Kit Kat, Stella Artois and Standard Life, has joined Euro RSCG KLP, the Havas-owned marketing communications agency, as a joint creative director. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Digital

, veteran of Microsoft and MSN, is leaving the company after 13 years "to pursue other opportunities". Ward's most recent job at the company was commercial director, but he has been on sabbatical for three months following the launch of Microsoft's new search engine, Bing. ()

Search optimisation and online reputation management firm Digitalis Media has appointed , previously CEO of AXA, Paternoster, Prudential and AA, as chairman. ()

The Rubicon Project has hired from Fox Interactive Media to manage ad network development in the UK and EMEA respectively. ()

Marketing

is to return to Vodafone as brand director UK. Crook, who has been working as European brand director at Gap, returns to the mobile operator next month. ()

The Findus Group, which owns brands including Young's Seafood, has appointed to the new group role of chief marketing officer. Hollander joins The Findus Group from Procter & Gamble, where he had worked for 15 years and had risen to global director of household cleaners. ()

BSI Group, the standards and certification body, has hired former Yell marketer to the position of managing director of global customer and product strategy. Francke, who starts in the role on 9 November, will report to BSI chief executive Howard Kerr. ()

Media

, a former senior civil servant at the Treasury under the Major government, has been appointed as the next chairman of Channel 4, replacing Luke Johnson at the start of 2010 and joining the board immediately as chairman-designate. ()

, the newly appointed commercial director at the Independent newspapers, has hired Mel Danks, Express Newspapers' head of trading, as deputy commercial director. ()

SeeSaw, the soon-to-launch VoD service based on Project Kangaroo technology, has appointed Channel 4's as commercial director. He will be responsible for developing revenue streams at SeeSaw, owned by transmission outfit Arqiva, and which is due to launch in the next few months. Rennie will also hire a new commercial team. ()

WFCA, the full-service marketing agency, has recruited former Initiative strategist and former Sky Media controller to its media department. Wright joins as deputy media director and Dewhirst as head of broadcast. ()

Clear Channel's international chief executive William Eccleshare , former Universal McCann UK chief executive, as international marketing director. The nine-strong executive committee's creation follows Eccleshare's arrival as Clear Channel Outdoor's international chief executive and president in September. ()
