TNS expands into Australian travel sector

LONDON -TNS Australia has acquired the Travel Research Centre, an Australian-based company with a syndicated business air travel monitor that spans 11 international markets.

The TRC also provides services to the broader private and public travel and leisure sector in Australia on projects such as market segmentation, customer satisfaction and advertising evaluation.

Chris Riquier, managing director of TNS Oceania, said: "TRC's wealth of experience in the private travel and leisure sector is a strategic complements to TNS Australia's public sector offering."

Carolyn Childs, who has 19 years experience with the TRC, will now take the position of travel and leisure research director for TNS Australia.

The acquisition is in line with TNS's global strategy to be the leader in this market, according to James Hall, regional managing director of TNS Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East and Africa.

"This sector is a major area of expansion for TNS, particularly in the Asia Pacific region and we have recently appointed Murray Campbell as regional director of TNS travel and leisure to reflect this," Hall said.
