Times Online continues to invest with travel relaunch

LONDON - The Times is continuing to revamp its website with the relaunch of its travel site as part of a strategy to improve and extend its travel services.

The new has been redesigned to provide travel information by country, city and type of holiday.

The relaunch of the travel site follows the launch of the first brand marketing campaign to promote Times Online and the makeover of its business section, which was billed as the first in a series of redesigns to improve the overall site.

The revamp to the travel site brings together content from the travel sections of The Sunday Times and The Times to provide in-depth guides to countries, cities and activities.

Times Online Travel also contains travel news, online exclusives and editorial specials, weather reports from around the world and an archive of hotel reviews.

Keith Blackmore, Times Online's editorial director, said: "By placing the best of that content into destination or activity specific sections, we are creating an invaluable resource for anyone thinking of travelling."

Users will continue to be able to sign up for Times Online Travel's free weekly travel offers bulletin containing special and last-minute travel offers. Other services include holiday ads from Times and Sunday Times Travel Classifieds, a flight and hotels booking service and travel supplements.

To mark the relaunch, Times Online and Peregrine Adventures are offering readers the chance to win an 11-day Antarctic adventure holiday for two, staying onboard a Peregrine explorer ship, and including return flights to Argentina from where the voyage starts.

Paul Hayes, general manager of Times Newspapers, said: "The redesign of the travel section follows the recent relaunch of the business section and a continuation on our path to improving our website."
