The Times launches restaurant promotion with 24-page guide

LONDON – The Times has launched its annual promotion, Eat Out for £5, with a 24-page guide to the participating restaurants as featured in Times 2.

The promotion is being targeted by The Times as a cheap way of eating out after the expense of Christmas. Readers will be given the chance to eat out for two courses at a choice of over 1,000 restaurants.

To get hold of the offer, readers need to collect three tokens and a voucher from The Times. These will be published daily over four weeks.

Readers can also find a list of participating restaurants at The Times where they can also download a bonus token.

The promotion, which was first launched 10 years ago, is being supported by a six-figure marketing campaign comprising television, radio and outdoor 48-sheet posters in London and the South East.

Simon Bell, marketing director of Times Newspapers, said: "Food and eating out is a core interest to our readers and the paper will be looking at new editorial themes this year, including a guide to good value restaurants and food groups, the foodie's equivalent of the book group.

"The success of our celebrated writers and critics such as Gordon Ramsay and Giles Coren demonstrates the importance of food to our readers."
