The appointment is part of the company's strategy to position data at the heart of the business and to continue to develop subscriptions as a key part of The Times and The Sunday Times strategy.
Under the terms of the contract, Broadsystem will be responsible for handling all subscriber acquisition, subscription management and the implementation of subscriber contact strategy.
The company will also be responsible for building and hosting the subscriber database to profile existing and potential subscribers. TNL will retain CCB as its data consultancy for purchase and processing.
The key part of the relationship is a dedicated subscription management service, which has been developed in-house by Broadsystem. This will ensure that all elements of the subscription process are fully integrated and completely flexible. It will provide a complete audit trail of each subscriber's history provided, as well as offering increased reporting functionality.
Toby Price, relationship marketing manager at The Times and Sunday Times, said: "Subscriptions are core strategic tool for us at The Times and The Sunday Times and offer us excellent relationship building opportunities. We have always been very impressed by Broadsystem and we look forward to working with it to further develop our subscriptions offering."
Caroline Worboys, managing director at Broadsystem, said the win was a huge one for the company.
"We have created a new and bespoke system to provide a complete subscription management programme. I'm sure this will enable us to help maintain and bring enhancements to one of the UK's most sophisticated subscription models," she said.
Broadsystem clients also include COI, Future Publishing, Continental Airlines, Five, Flextech and Haymarket Publishing. It was acquired by News International in 1990.
