Morden & Lea

Renowned chef Mark Sargeant, who has spent 13 years working with Gordon Ramsay, is behind the new 86-cover Morden & Lea restaurant in Soho. The first floor offers a casual, no reservations atmosphere with an all day snacks and charcuterie menu, including a seafood sausage roll and mackerel with red onion, capers and parsley. For something more refined, head upstairs for a £35 fixed priced brasserie-style dinner menu. There is a small cocktail bar and private dining space for eight people. The restaurant is available for private hire.

When: June - Exact date TBC

Where: Wardour Street, Soho

Hotel Chantelle

New York City restaurant and late-night spot, Hotel Chantelle, will be opening its first international outpost in London in July, offering American fare with a French influence that combines molecular gastronomy, comfort food and haute cuisine. Typical dishes include waffle-crusted fried chicken with maple syrup cotton candy and a tuna tartare cigar served in a vintage glass ashtray.

Diners can escape the busy London streets to find a Parisian garden oasis in a 2,500 sq ft dining area, which can also be hired exclusively for events. The New York restaurant in Manhattan’s Lower East Side has become a celeb haunt, attracting the likes of pop singer Katy Perry and actor Channing Tatum.

When: July

Where: 23 Orchard Street (just off Oxford Street and adjacent to Selfridges)

Oldroyd

Chef Tom Oldroyd, who was previously chef director at the Polpo restaurant group for five years, will be offering a daily-changing menu at his first solo opening, Oldroyd, near Angel tube station, this month. The 40-cover restaurant, spread across two floors, will serve locally-sourced seasonal British produce, such as confit mustard duck wings and cornish chorizo, prawn and broad bean paella, with cockles and aioli. The top floor will be available for private hire.

When: June - Exact date TBC

Where: Upper Street, Islington
