Thorntons hires Hômejames to overhaul search strategy

British chocolatier Thorntons has appointed search and social media specialists Hômejames to enhance its pay-per-click (PPC) strategy in the lead-up to Christmas.

Hômejames was awarded the brief to produce a cost-effective PPC strategy after a six-way pitch.

Claire Allen, marketing manager for Thorntons, said:  "We wanted to take a fresh approach to our strategy and ensure that it was aligned to our sales targets for the coming years.

In May, announced he was to step down after the chocolate maker issued a profit warning to the stock market, announcing that there had been a decline in commercial sales.

Thorntons recently announced that range of chocolates, two years after its last revamp, in a bid to boost sales.
