As part of the Year of the Bus campaign, the activation will be previewed to VIPs tomorrow (11 September), before opening to the general public riding London’s buses along The Strand during London Fashion Week (LFW) (12-22 September).
David LaChapelle’s LAND SCAPES collection will form part of the exhibition, marking his first public exhibition in London. It will feature ten images on the top of ten bus stop shelters, which top deck bus passengers will be able to view for free.
Each image depicts glowing scenes of landscapes, using handcrafted scale models constructed from everyday objects such as hair rollers, drinking straws and tin cans.
TfL created its first bus stop top photographic exhibition in February, during London Fashion Week (14-23 February), collaborating with fashion photographer and artist Juergen Teller. Images featured well-known faces from the fashion industry such as Kate Moss, Yves Saint Laurent and Dame Vivienne Westwood, as well as musicians Kurt Cobain and Björk.
