The new system will be attached to the supermarket's existing electronic point-of-sale system, and will process coupon promotions such as loyalty card vouchers and on-pack offers.
A spokesperson for Tesco said: "The scale of Tesco non-cash transactions requires a large-scale and complex processing system. To ensure accurate, timely and in-depth reports required a bespoke system. The solution NCH has developed meets all our very specific criteria."
NCH already handles volume fluctuations of between 5m and 10m coupons and vouchers a week.
Pat Ryan, managing director at NCH, said: "This is an immense project because every procedure within it has been configured to dovetail seamlessly with Tesco's established operation."
NCH's other retail clients include Sainsbury's, Boots, Asda, Safeway, Superdrug and Woolworths.
