Telewest reappoints Real Media for ad serving software

LONDON - Telewest Broadband has renewed its contract with Real Media to provide its advertisement management software for the cable broadcaster.

The contract extends Telewest's current deal to use Real Media's Open AdStream technology, first signed in 2000.

"OpenAdStream's delivery and scalability are critical attributes as we continue our digital television platform development," Chris Townsent, director of e-commerce and interactive services at Telewest, said.

Telewest is the UK's second largest cable broadcaster after NTL. Its network passes 4.9m homes and provides cable TV, telephone and internet services to 1.76m homes.
