TDA creates emotive mailout for guide dogs charity

LONDON - The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association has unveiled a holiday themed direct marketing campaign created by TDA, which will roll out in July.

The poignant campaign is designed to persuade supporters to make an extra donation. It introduces supporters to a married couple, Sue and Geraint Jones, who both lost their sight in their teens.

Sue explains how much they enjoy going to the seaside with the guide dogs, as it gives them vital independence and freedom as a family, without the need to depend on family and friends.

Stacey Lodrick, marketing coordinator at The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, said: "Unfamiliar environments present many challenges to visually impaired people -- without the partnership of a guide dog, they can find it difficult to leave home at all, let alone go on holiday.

"Sue and Geraint's heart-warming story shows just how guide dogs can change people's lives for the better."

Sarah Don-Bramah, account director at TDA, said: "Freedom and independence are central to Guide Dogs' work. We can all relate to those feelings, and the timing of this holiday themed campaign should ensure it resonates well with supporters."

TDA's other charity clients include Cats Protection, Kings College Hospital, Meningitis Trust, Oxfam and Save the Children.
