T-Mobile sets up YouTube channel for G1

LONDON - T-Mobile has launched a dedicated YouTube channel aimed at helping customers get to grips with its G1 handset, the first phone to run Google's Android operating system.

The channel encourages owners of the G1 to post questions about their phone and receive written and video answers from T-Mobile and YouTube users.

T-Mobile will also post blogs, tips, tricks and short clips on how to use the handset. The G1 is the first phone to run Google's Android operating system and T-Mobile has set up the channel to deal with expected customer queries.

T-Mobile head of online Brendon Cooling said the launch of the channel is about expanding the ways the company interacts with customers and will not impact on traditional customer service avenues such as call-centres.

"Social networking is a huge part of life for many of our customers, so launching a channel on YouTube was the next step in order to ensure our customers get the quality of service they deserve," said Cooling.
