Synovate said that the appointment of Huijboom, who was chief operating officer for Western Europe, allows it to service a wider group of clients at a global level. He will continue to be based in Amsterdam where he remains chairman for Synovate Netherlands.
Separately, Michael was appointed to the newly created role of head of global online, panel marketing and operations of ViewsNet, where he will be tasked with creating a data collection service for hosting, analysing and reporting on online survey data.
Under Michael's direction, Synovate's panel will continue to be expanded in western Europe, with 120,000 panelists slated for the end of August.
The global research company has also appointed Bruce Wells and Paul Cooney as chief information officers of Synovate and Enterprise Solutions respectively.
Wells will head up IT while Cooney's main role will be to implement Synovate's Wisdom Project, a global database, financial and management reporting system, part of its Enterprise Solutions division.
In addition, Synovate's youth research units across the world have been organised into a new specialist division, Synovate YC, to be headed up by senior vice-president Ian Pierpoint.
He worked both client and agency sides before setting up market research company Vegas in 2000, which was acquired by Synovate in 2004.
Pierpoint has over 15 years' experience in youth research, planning and marketing, working throughout the world for clients including Absolut, Unilever and MTV.
