LONDON - Insurance brand Swiftcover has announced it is to start offering its products to musicians, ahead of an Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ruling on Wednesday.

The Axa-owned brand prompted a number of complaints to the ASA for refusing musicians insurance, despite using punk star Iggy Pop in its UK advertising. The ad campaign, featuring the tagline ‘Get a life!', aimed to promote online insurer's 60-second quote facility.

‘Many musicians contacted swiftcover.com after seeing Iggy in our ads and we appreciate that they were disappointed that we were not able to offer them insurance then. We are delighted that musicians can now also get ‘swiftcovered',' said Tina Shortle, marketing director at Swiftcover.
