Sudhakar will focus on developing its eCRM programme and, as part of that job, will oversee the development of its portfolio of six email newsletters, which are based on customer interest, augmented customer data and purchase history.
Vijay Solanki, UK marketing director, said: "Sonia is a valuable member of the team and is returning at an exciting time for the company. The CRM strategy she is driving will ensure we maintain the lowest customer acquisition costs using strategic campaigns like the current spring weekend activity through to tactical email campaigns. As the sector continues to grow we will use CRM to cross-sell travel with lifestyle and increase loyalty."
Sudhakar rejoins the internet travel firm after a four-month sabbatical, which she spent travelling and writing for The Guardian after winning The Guardian's Netjetter3 competition for travel journalism.
"We're now even better placed to capitalise on our database and technology to retain our customers, more effectively than our competitors," Sudhakar said.
During her four-month trip Sudhakar travelled from Dar es Salaam to Fort-de-France via Kampala, Buenos Aires, Santiago and Lima. To read her articles visit: .
