StrawberryFrog scoops place on Coke roster with German win

LONDON - StrawberryFrog, the Amsterdam-based independent agency, has been appointed as the agency of record for Diet Coke in Germany, taking over from Publicis.

The agency's first advertising for the brand, known as Coca-Cola Light in Germany, is expected to appear in the next few months. It won the account after a competitive pitch against undisclosed agencies.

Although the work will be created for the German market, Coca-Cola has a history of using successful ads on an international basis -- as was the case for Mother's "I wish" spot for Coke Classic.

It is StrawberryFrog's first time on a Coke roster, but the win follows that of other international brands including Heineken, for which it will work on its Uefa sponsorship, and the clothes shop Old Navy, previously held by Deutsch New York.

It is also in the running for the 拢40m global Heineken account, which was held by Wieden & Kennedy. StrawberryFrog will pitch against WCRS and McCann Erickson for the work.

The Coke pitch team was lead by chief executive Brian Elliot, along with account director Stefan Petzinger, who is German, and creative director Dylan Ingham.

Separately, StrawberryFrog has beaten Bartle Bogle Hegarty in a pitch for the US online banking company Harris Direct.
