Strategic review may lead to Habitat sale

The company has been badly hit by the recession and has suffered poor sales figures.

According to reports in The Sunday Times, retail experts said weak sales can be partly attributed to poor customer service, overpricing and the wrong product mix.

Figures show that Habitat's UK business lost more than £13.4m in the year ending March 30, 2008.

The retailer was founded by Sir Terence Conran.
