The deal will see it work with its clients to shape future web content as well as place advertising across a number of existing websites.
According to a report in the New York Times, Starcom has struck a four-year deal with multi media production company BermanBraun. The firm owns a number of websites, including gossip site Wonderwall, as well as producing TV and film content in Los Angeles.
Laura Desmond, Starcom's chief executive told the paper that she sees the deal shaping the industry's future.
"Our clients are rightfully demanding a more robust pipeline of digital programming options beyond what exists It is essential for us to help curate and create the content that will fill this gap."
