The existing service features more than 250 message boards. Users of the new iVillage Connect will be able to create profiles, build groups, post blogs, upload photos and invite friends and family to join. Groups will be created for people interested in areas such as fashion, television soaps, motherhood and cookery.
Kirstin Watson, head of community for iVillage.co.uk, said: "iVillage has always been about women coming together to share experiences and information. Community and user generated content is central to our proposition. The new tools will enhance our users' experience, giving them the opportunity to express themselves and share information and advice more easily than before."
