Standard Life taps Simon Esberger for senior marketing role

LONDON - Financial service brand Standard Life has appointed one-time Npower commercial director Simon Esberger to its marketing team. Esberger, a former marketing director at Haagen-Dazs, will take on the role of marketing operations director.

Esberger joins from business consultancy XPotential, where he operated as a strategic brand consultant. He will report to Standard Life chief marketing officer Simon Gulliford, who himself joined the company less than a year ago.

Gulliford is currently overseeing a restructure of the Standard Life marketing team.

The brand is also currently searching for a UK marketing division head to report into UK managing director of marketing, Andrew Gillespie.
