In a statement yesterday, St Paul’s said staff had now dealt with the list of safety concerns which resulted in it being closed since 21 September, due to hundreds of Occupy London activists who are camping around the building.
The cathedral has since announced it will seek legal action against the protestors.
The dome and galleries will remain closed, but events spaces The Wren Suit, The Crypt and the Nelson Chamber, where the tomb of Admiral Lord Nelson sits, will reopen.
The cathedral has around 20 events planned until the rest of the year, .
But St Paul’s corporate events manager Alana Buckley told Event that clients were still concerned about the stability of the venue. "Although the cathedral is open there are obviously a lot of concerns from our corporate clients about moving forward with the venue," she said.
"If anybody that decides that for health and safety or reputation reasons they want to move elsewhere, we’re supportive of that decision and we’re helping relocate them as much as possible."
Buckley said that one event was rescheduled while the cathedral was closed, and another planned for next week will also be moved to next year. An event in the week of 7 November has relocated to another venue in the Unique Venues of London group. All are large scale drinks receptions and dinners.
The cathedral opened for worship and visitors at 12.30 today with a Eucharist service.
