Sports Marketing Surveys to launch SailTrack

LONDON – Sports Marketing Surveys is to launch a global sailing tracking service called SailTrack from next year.

The service will include three waves of research during 2005 and 2006 including interviews with sailing enthusiasts and sports fans from Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.

Reports will provide information on interest levels, knowledge of events, awareness of sponsors and image of sailing.

Clients will also benefit from being able to add their own specific questions to gain feedback from a sponsorship or event.

Sports Marketing Surveys has launched the service after its 2004 World Sponsorship Monitor revealed sponsors committed $230m on sailing last year alone -- 30% more than the previous year.

The UK-based company also revealed that sailing is attracting a wider audience because it is shifting from recreational sailing to more experential events.
