
Taking place in Greenwich in London on 14-15 August and created in conjunction with Mahiki London, the event will feature an enormous outdoor beach surrounded by a village of 15 Tiki bars, each showcasing their own signature cocktails. The beach will include 180 tonnes of imported sand covering 600sqm with a wooden decking surround, hammocks and cabanas.
Entertainment will be provided by hula and limbo dancers, fire breathers and drummers while Caribbean barbecue-style food will also be available. To enhance the tropical vibe, drinks on offer will include Pina Coladas, Mai Tais, Zombies and Hurricanes.
The event wil feature the world's largest Pina Colada, which will include 500 litres of the drink.
Spirit of Tiki has been created by three of the biggest names in rum; Georgi Radev, bar manager of Mahiki, Roger Barnes, life-long rum aficionado and Ian Burrell, global ambassador for the spirit and founder of UK Rum Fest.
Spirit of Tiki is one of several beach-themed events taking place in London this summer, with others including , featuring brands including Virgin Holidays and Coca-Cola and , which features a Brazilian makeover to tie in with Rio 2016.
