Soul founder Kevin Brown to spearhead media at BBH

LONDON – Bartle Bogle Hegarty has hired media specialist Kevin Brown, who set up Soul the full-service agency offering media planning integrated with creative agency skills, as head of media.

A free agent after leaving Soul in the summer, Brown had been linked with Naked, which is searching for a fourth partner, and Aegis. Soul is now known as Nitro, after it was taken over by the global Nitro network in June.

Brown has links to BBH from the 1990s, when he was a director at Motive, the media buying agency BBH created out of its in-house media department in 1995.

BBH, whose clients include Levi's and Audi, ceded its stake in Motive to Publicis, which took full control in 2003 to create Starcom Motive.

Brown left Motive to found Soul in 2000 along with BBH's Duncan Bird, Andy Bird, Bruce Crouch and Seamus O'Farrell.
