Bird and Brown co-founded Soul in 2000. They will leave the agency in the summer and are currently looking for new jobs in the industry.
Nitro will now take complete control of Soul, having taken a substantial share of the agency in April.
Bruce Crouch, a Soul creative partner, will become the managing director and team up with Paul Shearer as a joint executive creative partner. Shearer will also have global duties. Andy Bird will become the head of art. Enda McCarthy, JWT's global business director on HSBC, and Paul Adrian, a director at New Biz, join the agency.
McCarthy will take responsibility for Nitro's recently won Nike business. He will also spearhead the agency's growth in London and Europe. Following Nitro's acquisition of the direct agency River, Adrian will co-manage Nitro's below-the-line offering alongside its chief, Mark Thornton. The agency is looking for a head of planning.
Chris Clark, the head of Nitro Worldwide, said: "With Paul, Bruce, Andy and co, we are thrilled with our line-up. I would also like to put on the record the contribution made by Kevin and Duncan."
In April, Nitro snatched a pan-European Nike project from its incumbent, Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam. Since its UK launch last October, it has also picked up assignments for Mars and Swatch.
Duncan Bird said: "This is a whole new era for Soul. I've taken stock and am going to look at my options."
