Sky names Lloyd as mobile business chief

LONDON - Sky has appointed business development director Emma Lloyd as the new head of its mobile business.

Lloyd will be responsible for the development of Sky's range of mobile services, such as 24-7 Football, Sky News, Sky Sports and Sky entertainment, and for Sky's mobile applications such as the Sky+ remote record function.

She will also be responsible for Sky's relationships with mobile network operators, the operation of its existing mobile services and the development of future mobile content.

Stephen Nuttall, director of Sky's commercial group, said: "More customers are using their mobile devices to access sports, news and entertainment than ever before. Emma's expertise and experience within the mobile sector mean that she is ideally placed to lead Sky's mobile business."

Lloyd was managing director of BT Movio before joining Sky in January this year. Prior to that, she co-founded Livetime, a company focusing on the mobile data market, and also worked as a management consultant, specialising in the mobile telecommunications sector.
