Sky expands on-demand sports offer

LONDON - Sky is boosting the sports offering on its video-on-demand service Sky Anytime on PC, with new content from ESPN and Voom.

ESPN Classic already offers on-demand content through Sky Anytime on TV, available to Sky+ and Sky HD customers. This will now be available via the Sky Anytime on PC service.

In addition, content from extreme sports channel Voom Rush HD will also join the Sky Anytime on PC service.

Both new channel brands will sit within the sports genre segment oF the service, joining Sky Sports, which already offers football, boxing and cricket.

Griff Parry, director of on-demand, BSkyB, said it planned to add more content brands to the service.

Sky Anytime on PC offers content online with users’ Sky TV subscriptions, and some content is available to non-Sky customers on a pay-per-view basis.

The service already offers content from third-party brands including National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo Wild, The History Channel, The Biography Channel and Crime & Investigation Network.

Sky Anytime on PC launched in January 2006, followed by the launch of Sky Anytime on TV in March 2007
