Yesterday (11 November) the COI's director of live events Simon Hughes became the second recipient of the coveted number one spot in Event's 100 Club of the most influential people in the event industry.

Last year's number one, Jane Risby-Rose, slipped down to 13th as a tumultuous year for the event industry saw much movement in the list, voted for by over 2,000 industry peers.
