SiebertHead creates king size Kaiser for Heineken

LONDON - SiebertHead has created a visual identity for Heineken's new 'king size' Kaiser Beer, unveiling a label and bottle design that appear from the end of March.

The design agency adapted the existing Kaiser label to fit the new PET plastic bottle holding one litre of the beer, which is brewed in Bulgaria at the Zagorka brewery.

SiebertHead was tasked with giving the label a luxury feel, to reinforce Kaiser's position in Bulgaria as a premium brand. The new bottle features large scale de-bossed branding and is designed to reflect the image of a Kaiser or emperor.

Tim Corvin, SiebertHead's head of structural design, said: "The intention of the pack design is to communicate the 'Kaiser of Beers', creating a bottle of stature and majesty, which when viewed in profile echoes the silhouette of an Emperor [Kaiser] in his robes.

"The distinctive bottle shape also creates a unique waist for holding the bottle, encouraging new off-premise usage occasions, for example, sharing with friends and family at home."

A TV campaign is due to roll out to support the launch of the king-size bottle. The work is part of an ongoing PET packaging strategy that SiebertHead is working on with Heineken's Central and East European division.
