Shazam Friends provides a real-time feed of songs that friends have tagged, creating a continuously updated list for every user, generated by what their friends are listening to.

The feature, which will be available on iPhone, iPod touch and Android, also enables the user to listen to these tracks and buy them.

The user can see all recent tags from a particular friend in one list, add friends’ tags to their Shazam history and playlist, and watch music videos.

For two friends to see each other’s tags, they both have to connect their Facebook accounts to Shazam. Users can also post tags to Facebook and Twitter.

The feature is available from now for all users on Apple’s iOS devices. Shazam Friends will launch on the app,(Shazam) Red, and on the Android in coming weeks.

Alex Musil, executive vice-president product marketing, Shazam, said: "Over three million songs are Shazam’d each day, and thousands of these are shared individually by people on Facebook every day".
