
Lewis has taken up the newly created position with immediate effect and will report to Evan Krauss, executive vice-president of ad sales in New York.
He joins from CBSi Music-owned Last.fm, where he was senior vice-president for four years and responsible for the launch of its commercial function in 2007.
Shazam wants to bring its Shazam for TV service over to Europe after signing up big name brands to the service in the US, including Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Pepsi, Honda and 20th Century Fox Entertainment.
Lewis has more than 20 years' experience of the industry and previously worked as head of agency sales at Yahoo UK & Ireland for a year, and head of agency sales at AOL UK for five years.
Shazam claims to have more than 180 million users in over 200 countries and was set up a decade ago to help users find the name of a song and artist of a track, by holding their mobile phone up to a speaker.
