The VideoEgg network is composed of websites attracting more than 50 million unique users. It claims to be the first company to commercialise interactive advertising overlays onto video.
The network also pioneered the cost-per-engagement model, whereby advertising impressions are free and advertisers only pay when the user interacts with the unit, including playing a game, taking a poll or product tour, or rolling over a unit for a specified time.
Shaikh comes to VideoEgg from AdJug, the online advertising marketplace, where he was a founding director and served as vice-president of advertising. He has also held positions at Emap, Miva and Videojug.com.
