Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell creates web series

NEW YORK - 'Sex and the City' author Candace Bushnell is writing a four-part web series called 'The Broadroom' for a tie-up with More magazine, which is being backed by Maybelline New York.

'The Broadroom' will star a cast of women, including Jennie Garth from 'Beverly Hills, 90210', Jennifer Esposito from 'Samantha Who?', Talia Balsam from 'Mad Men', Broadway actress Mary McCann, and newcomer Lauren Devereux.

As part of the deal Bushnell, who is also author of 'Lipstick Jungle', will write a number of articles for the September and October issues of the magazine, which is aimed at 40-plus women.

Bushnell said: "We hope to entertain women with humorous stories that make us realize how extraordinary every woman is."

The series is produced by More magazine's owner, Meredith Corporation, in association with Co.Op TV. It is currently being filmed in New York.

Lesley Jane Seymour, editor of More, said: "It's funny, and a lot of women will recognize themselves. There's the Millennial and Boomer women, all representative of different crowds we see in business."

Maybelline New York is using the series to promote a new product -- Color Sensational Lip Color.

Deborah Marquardt, vice president of integrated marketing communications at Maybelline New York, said: "For a lip launch as significant and special as Color Sensational, we wanted to do something unique and wide-reaching that celebrated colour and the way women wear it and make it their own."

Users will be able to view the webisodes from mid-September.
