SeeSaw users will be able to pay to watch individual episodes or entire series as part of the deal.

Other programmes included are Battlestar Galactica, Heroes and the US version of The Office. The addition of NBC’s shows brings SeeSaw’s offering to 3,500 hours of free content and 1,500 of rental.

The company says that since its launch five months ago, two million unique users have visited the site. Figures released by UKOM in June, however, found that only 200,000 people had used the service during May.

Matt Rennie, commercial director of SeeSaw, said: "Our ambition is to build a world-class platform which offers the best programming from both UK and international content suppliers."

SeeSaw, owned by Arqiva, was borne out of Project Kangaroo, which was meant to be a catch-up TV service launched by major UK broadcasters.

MTV, Disney, Comedy Central and BBC Worldwide also have content deals with SeeSaw.
