Seat drivers given the finger in Ibiza SC cinema push

LONDON - Seat is courting controversy with a new cinema ad this week featuring a mystery woman giving the finger to a group of its drivers, including Seat Sport UK star Jason Plato, as she drives off in the new Ibiza Sport Coupe.

The ad features a group of Seat's top male racing drivers sprinting for the keys to the new Ibiza SC only to be beaten by a glamorous woman who roars away in the car, finishing with the tagline "There can be only one driver".

The woman, who gives them the finger out of the window as she drives off, isn't identified in the ad but Seat has revealed that it is Seat Leon Supercopa star Christina Surer, a 34-year-old Swiss racer who drives the 185 PS Seat Leon in the German touring car series.

The 30-second cinema ad will be shown from Friday alongside blockbuster films, including 'Tropic Thunder' and 'Righteous Kill', rated 15 or above by the BBFC.

Rob Taylor, Seat UK national communications manager, said: "We really wanted the Ibiza SC ad to be irreverent -- a humorous, fun bit of entertainment.

"It will run alongside films playing to a mature audience and I'm confident the million or so cinema goers who will potentially see it over the next few weeks will appreciate the humour, as well as the stunning new Ibiza SC."
