Seagal gets romantic for new Orange campaign

LONDON – 'Under Siege' star Steven Seagal is the latest Hollywood act to pitch his movie idea to the Orange Film Board in the mobile phone brand's popular cinema campaign.

Seagal follows a line of stars pitching their ideas to the mobile phone obssesed Orange Film board. In the ad, created by Mother, the boardroom background is swapped for a golf course and Seagal walks up to speak to board executive Dresdon about his romantic comedy film suggestion.

Dresdon spots the actor walking towards him and jumps in his golf cart to make a speedy getaway, but martial arts star Seagal, who has also starred in the likes of 'Exit Wound' and 'Executive Decision', pursues him.

A chase ensues and Dresdon continues to put down the Hollywood star's ideas, while attempting to place Orange and its phone services into the script.

A black helicopter is then seen hovering over the horizon in a scene reminiscent of Seagal's films and Dresdon is depicted as the villain sitting in the plane.

The ad ends with Seagal taking an electronic detonator out of his pocket and the familiar tagline "Don't let a mobile phone ruin your movie. Please switch it off". Seagal is currently working on 'Under Siege 3 - Plane Danger'.

Others who have appeared in the series include John Cleese, Darth Vader, Patrick Swayze, Verne Troyer (Mini Me in the 'Austin Powers' films), Carrie Fisher, Spike Lee, Roy Scheider and 'Lord of the Rings' actor Sean Astin.

The spot is directed by Bryan Buckley and the producer is Kevin Byrne.
