John O'Connor, Sage's customer data manager, said: "Businesses change name, address and contact details frequently, and when you have hundreds of thousands of customers, it's a constant challenge to keep their data up to date."
Earlier this year, Sage implemented Trillium's TS Discovery software for its data profiling and analysis.
In May, it brought in TS Quality software to its central customer database for data cleansing, enrichment and quality management and later this year it will implement TS Insight data monitoring software.
O'Connor said: "We are very impressed with the power of TS Quality to improve the quality of our data, straight out of the box and with no customisation.
"Already, 25% of our records have been improved in their accuracy and 92% of all records now match to the UK Royal Mail postcode address file. We are now beginning to add our own business and data rules to combine with those supplied with TS Quality and expect even greater improvements, targeting a 100% PAF match."
Sage provides software and services to more than 700,000 businesses in the UK. It is a subsidiary of The Sage Group.
