Ryanair launches SMS service for travel bargain hunters

LONDON - Ryanair is targeting bargain-hunting travellers with a new text message service to alert passengers to its latest promotional offers.

The service is called Txt&Fly and will cost users €5 (£3.49) for three months. People can sign up via the . The Irish airline has partnered with mobile technology firm Textus for the service.

Caroline Green, head of customer service at Ryanair, said: "This is another first for Ryanair, and the new Txt&Fly SMS alert service goes live today, which means no more waiting to access your emails -- you'll be the first to know over the mobile."
