Ryanair uses web to expand business size

Budget airline Ryanair is expanding its routes and increasing the scale of its business, using the web as its main distribution channel.

The airline is allocating up to four aircraft to a third continental base at Milan Bergamo. It plans to operate more than 30 flights a day to London, Frankfurt, Brussels, Hamburg, Paris and Barcelona. The company claimed a one-way fare will be 90 per cent cheaper than the lowest fare offered by rival Alitalia. The service starts on 6 February next year.

Ryanair is also launching a route from London Stansted to Barcelona Girona from 20 February, claims the lowest fares will be exclusive to the web.
