Research shows frequency of IT decision-makers' job moves

LONDON - List manager RSA Direct has unveiled research highlighting the need for business-to-business marketers to keep their customer contact information up to date.

It revealed that Belgium, Austria and Luxembourg experienced the highest churn of IT decision-makers, at 21.2%, 21.8% and 22.2% respectively.

However, the UK market's churn-rate was a comparatively low 6.2%. The lowest was in Germany, at 4.2%.

The research studied changes to the Harte-Hanks Computer Intelligence Technology Database between August 2004 and August 2005.

Harte-Hanks conducts more than 7,000 in-depth telephone interviews with IT decision makers every month. Marketers using CITDB are able to keep their contact information up to date.

"This research shows that senior IT decision makers are leaving their posts through promotion, a change in responsibilities or departure from the organisation entirely," RSA Direct list manager Trish Dominy said.

"Successful marketing is contingent on gaining the right decision making contact within an organisation. The segment of low, medium and high provides marketers with some important additional insight."
