Redundancies may follow Anheuser-Busch merger with InBev

LONDON - The merged business of Anheuser-Busch and InBev is set to cut hundreds of jobs in the UK as part of the integration of the two companies.

Redundancies may follow Anheuser-Busch merger with InBev

In a memo to staff last week, AB InBev's UK president Stuart McFarlane warned of ‘potential redundancies' across the group.

A spokesman for the company confirmed that a consultation process was underway with UK employees over ‘synergies' and said a number of areas of the business would be restructured.

‘Both consultation around proposed role impacts as a result of integration and proposed role impact as a result of a restructure will be conducted at the same time,' he added.

He would not rule out job cuts in the marketing departments of both businesses. Andreas Hilger is the marketing director of the InBev side of the business while Vicki Kipling is his equivalent at A-B.
