Redhouse Lane wins Livingstone's online recycling task

LONDON - Londoners will be encouraged to recycle more through a new online campaign to be created by Redhouse Lane on behalf of the Greater London Authority.

The agency has been hired to deliver the online elements of the £1.5m campaign, which will be built around the theme "you can recycle more than you think".

It launches in September and will include online marketing as well as information such as a recycling facilities locator driven by a postcode search.

Paul Thurlow, head of user experience at Redhouse Lane, said: "This is the killer application for Londoners. Entering a postcode allows users to instantly see what recycling services are available in their area. A printer-friendly, postcode-specific factsheet is generated with everything you need to know about recycling, ready to pin on the fridge door."

The aim is to both win the hearts and minds of Londoners and inspire them to recycle, as well as make them act by directing them to recycling depots.

Ken Livingstone, London Mayor, said: "Getting people in London to recycle more is a considerable challenge. This campaign has an important role to play in encouraging them to make recycling a part of their everyday routine."
