Reay quits commercial director role at Yahoo! following Chippendale appointment

LONDON - Alison Reay is leaving her job as commercial director at Yahoo! after three years, just a week after Sky's Mark Chippendale was appointed to the new role of head of European sales at the internet company.

Reay has not revealed her next move at this stage. Her responsibilities will be taken over by Blake Chandlee, who takes the role of director of UK media sales. He will report to Jon Gisby, managing director of Yahoo! UK, as well as Chippendale.

Chippendale's role is a new one at Yahoo!, and will see him take responsibility for developing Yahoo! Europe's media sales strategy and for building the company's profile with the advertising community.

Reay said: "In recent months, we have been developing our strategy on the way forward for Yahoo! sales. It is an exciting time of change in the online world and there are many opportunities here. However, I've decided that, after a fantastic three years, now is the right time for me to move on from Yahoo! to my next challenge."

During her time at Yahoo!, Reay built the UK and pan-European sales teams, and saw Yahoo!'s media sales revenues more than double in the last two years.

Chandlee joins Yahoo! in London from its New York office, where he was group category development officer for the consumer packaged goods, retail and pharmacy sectors.

Prior to joining Yahoo! in 2003, he was a founder and senior partner at the consultancy Kryptonite Ventures.

Gisby said: "Alison has been working with us to identify the right changes to make to our UK operations and has laid an amazing foundation for Blake and Mark Chippendale to build on. We wish Alison every success in her next adventure."
