The real Suicide Squad? Zak creates spoof ad for action figure set of international political villains

Independent agency Zak has created a satirical film bringing some much-needed light relief to the "dark year of leadership" in 2016.

The ASS (Anguish Suffering and Sorrow) Squad is made up of four characters arguably on different tiers of the hierarchy of evil: Donald Trump, Nigel Farage, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-Un.

Each of the four toys comes with a number of accessories specific to the man in question. Putin, for example, comes with "Gazprom stocks" and "terrain maps of the former Soviet republics", while Kim comes with "a flask containing North Korea’s cure for Aids".

Farage is accompanied by "a half-full pint of London Pride" and "incredibly low foresight", while Trump’s features include "pussy-grabbing hands" and "stunning full Klan robes".

The film features 3D-printed character dolls created by Zak’s junior team – though they are credited to "Twattel".

Matthew Bennett, chief creative officer at Zak, said: "We’re constantly engaging with a young influencer audience of under-30s for our clients and this year we’ve seen politics affect them in a big way.

"It’s become even more about personality, not policy, and it has created a generational schism. The future is being defined by people swallowing increasingly dumbed down and often misleading manifestos.

"Politicians are even more sinister and shady. It’s been a dark year for leadership. So, we wanted to stick a finger up at just a few of those who have played a part in 2016 being a year of disappointing outcomes."
