During the hour-long show on BBC One at 9pm, as well as its follow-up show - The Apprentice: You're Fired - straight after on BBC Two featuring , individuals from the event sector tweeted @Eventmagazine about the contestants' efforts.
Using a dedicated hashtag (#EventApprentice), online users joined in an online debate on how the two teams faired in arranging the events on a budget of £5,000.
Lord Sugar made it clear that the teams would be judged on both profit as well as the quality of customer service.
Set within the grounds of Theobalds Park, a DeVere venue, team Evolve's project manager Francesca MacDuff-Varley decided to host a school-themed away day, while Leah Totton of team Endeavour waivered before finally settling on an army theme.
The back to school away day featured activities such as a cupcake decorating class and a wine tasting task, while participants of the army away day were ordered to take part in a series of outdoor lawn games in a military fashion.
Both teams were penalised in the boardroom by their clients, having to refund money based on the quality of the events organised. But it was Rebecca Slater who was shown the door by Lord Sugar in the boardroom.
Archer, who will be speaking at today's Guide Live event at Vue Westfield London, defended Slater on The Apprentice: You're Fired and her suggestion to hire a motivational speaker for her team's away day.
She said: "I have a little bit of respect for you for going with the motivational speaker because I don't know if anyone stood up enough to the job. So you might have been in even more trouble had you not hired someone in professionally."
