The Georgian mansion house, part of De Vere Venues' portfolio, will make an appearance on the new five-part series at 9pm, hosted by Michael Buerk and Bettany Hughes, unveiling the stories behind some of the UK’s most secret homes.

Tonight’s programme will reveal that during World War II, Latimer Place played an integral part in British history, housing many German Prisoners of War who were inadvertently revealing secrets of great military importance whilst being held in the stately home.

The information gleaned was considered of such great importance to the war efforts, the project was given unlimited budget from the government.

De Vere Venues’ Theobolds Park in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, was also featured on TV recently, on 5 June, .
