Helen Page, managing director for marketing and innovation, UK retail, at RBS, is expected to leave the bank.

RBS marketing chief Helen Page in talks over departure

Page, who oversees marketing across the RBS and NatWest brands, is understood to be in discussions over a possible departure. It is not known whether she has another job to go to.

The former Argos head of brand marketing joined the group in 2004 as the brand director for NatWest.

After assuming the top retail marketing role at the bank, Page led a shift from comedic ads resulting in the launch of RBS' on-going 'Helpful banking' marketing strategy, emphasising the different types of customer service it offers.

In 2009, Page oversaw a partnership with O2 through which NatWest provides financial-services products under the O2 Money banner.

An RBS spokeswoman said: 'We do not comment on personnel matters.'
