is now inviting companies involved in online sports and gaming to bid for five licences to offer a combination of live horseracing and racing analysis supplied by Trinity Mirror's Racing Post. The service will also let customers bet online, and the betting process will be handled by the wireless agency Sportev.
The joint venture follows a recent partnership between the Racing Post and Racing UK for a dedicated Grand National race website earlier this month.
Simon Bazalgette, executive chairman of Racing UK, said: "Our partnership with the Racing Post is a powerful combination of video and data, which will allow horseracing punters to study form and view live races via broadband."
He added it demonstrated how horseracing continues to be at the forefront of new technological developments and showed how it would maximise revenue for the benefit of the sport as a whole.
Racing UK said that its joint Grand National site with the Racing Post was a success, with 2.4m page impressions from 157,000 unique users in the nine days leading up to the race. It included analysis and form from the Racing Post alongside live and archive video footage of the Grand National from Racing UK.
Among the 31 racecourses that own Racing UK are Aintree, Cheltenham, Epsom, Goodwood, Newbury and Newmarket. The company owns and markets its own media rights.
