The first available issue will be the October edition, featuring Muse in an exclusive cover shoot.
Q will be available every month on the Apple tablet for £2.99 and a 12-month subscription will cost £29.99. It will include exclusive artist interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, powerful imagery and a variety of video and audio content.
The Q brand was pulled off television after 12 years in May to make way for sister brand Heat.
Its arrival on iPad follows the launch of Bauer's Empire US iPad edition and comes ahead of the launch of Grazia on the platform this autumn.
Rimi Atwal, publishing director at Bauer Media, said: "The launch of the Q iPad edition proves Bauer's commitment to continued investment in digital platforms across their entire portfolio of magazines."
The most recent ABC figures, for July - December 2011, put Q's print circulation at 77,522 copies, down 12.1% year on year.
