The artist is reportedly looking at staging two events in Manchester. In the last week, Prince has played at a number of London venues including Soho jazz club Ronnie Scott's and Kings Place.

He also performed at Shepherd's Bush Empire and the Electric Ballroom in Camden earlier this month.

Two gigs were held over three hours at Kings Place in London's King's Cross on 14 February, with Prince performing a legendary set including Raspberry Beret, U Got the Look, Chaos & Disorder, PretzelBodyLogic, covers of Train in Vain, Who Is He (And What Is He To You), Crimson & Clover, an instrumental version of Roxy Music's More Than This, and finishing with an encore of Purple Rain .

Prince's shows are being announced at the last minute, with celebrity A-Listers flocking to the event. The team at Kings Place had eight hours' notice to prepare the venue.

"We are incredibly proud and excited to have hosted Prince’s secret gig on his ‘Hit and Run’ tour," said Jen Mitchell, managing director of Kings Place Music Foundation. "It gave the Kings Place team and the venue a perfect opportunity to show what its truly capable of at very short notice."
